Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, located in Disney’s Beach Club Resort, is a quick service restaurant themed as an old-fashioned soda fountain that serves ice cream, sundaes, and American grilled favorites. Most importantly it’s famous for “The Kitchen Sink.” In other words, a bigass sundae. Additionally, they have no shortage of gluten free options available to order. Reservations are a must because there is limited seating available inside and out. Specifically, there are only eight damn tables and 4 chairs at the counter.

First, I have never been to the Atlantic seashore. Moreover, I’d be a lying asshole if I told you how authentic the decor was inside the restaurant. If it’s any consolation it does remind me of vintage soda shops from the movies. At the same time, it certainly has the feel of old ice cream shops that I have visited in my lifetime. It also sports an old school jukebox at the entrance that’s constantly playing oldies. In fact, I think guests are even allowed to choose the music for FREE!

The Kitchen Sink is a big ass sundae. However, this review isn’t really about the ice cream and toppings. I’m not going to tell you how extraordinary the ice cream is, or how the mixture of toppings added an exquisite level of flavor. It’s just ice cream, folks. Although, everything tastes better on Disney property. With that said, if you and your kid(s) don’t like ice cream and a shit ton of toppings, then don’t bother ordering “The Kitchen Sink.” Furthermore, if you don’t like productions and genuine fun, then by all means don’t eat here.

The Experience

The Kitchen Sink is all about the damn experience. Every time someone orders the Sink, it turns into a production. Once the siren lights start going off, you know it’s for something good. The server walks around the entire diner with the sink in their hands, while listing all the toppings and ends the production with “a whole can of whipped cream.” Subsequently, the entire restaurant then shouts back “a WHOLE can?!” The whole presentation enhances the experience with other patrons partaking in this tradition.

Our kids couldn’t stop smiling as they dug into this bad boy while yelling “a whole can of whipped cream?” Of course what kid wouldn’t be excited eating that SOB? At the same time, the Beaches and Cream atmosphere creates an experience that we’ll remember forever. To that end, making memories is what vacations are all about. It truly brought joy to our family. For that reason, this is a fantastic way to spend time with your family. If you’re staying at an Epcot resort or if you’re spending the day at Epcot, I highly recommend stopping by Beaches and Cream. In my opinion, it’s one of the best $35 you can spend at Walt Disney World.
