Christmastime is a very popular time of the year for people traveling to Walt Disney World. In other words, it’s busier than shit. So you better book your vacation now!

Disney truly makes a spectacle of Christmas. Christmas decorations can be found at all 4 parks, and at every resort on property. Each resort has been uniquely decorated after the theme of the resort. One easy way to view some of the resorts is on the Magic Kingdom Monorail loop, which makes Wilderness Lodge only a boat ride away. Also, if you’re by Epcot you can hit up Yacht and Beach Club, and The Boardwalk. With a few words and lots of pictures let’s take a look at some of my favorite Christmastime decor at the resorts at Walt Disney World.

The Grand Floridian

The smell permeating through this resort was extraordinary. The Grand Floridian hosts one of the most elaborate decorations of all the resorts. It featured a giant gingerbread house, which included a damn store inside of it. Damn right we bought something from that store! Who the hell wouldn’t? We tried snickerdoodle and thin mint cookies from Erin McKenna’s bakery, which were GF and quite tasty. This SOB took over two months and 840 hours of labor to create. It’s truly a badass piece of art.

In addition to the gingerbread house it had a big ass Christmas tree that would make Clark Griswold proud. This tree was quite spectacular. Specifically, it was three stories high with thousands of lights and ornaments. For example, it even had miniature replica birdcages all over it. In short, if you love Christmas you’ll love The Grand Floridian at Christmastime.

Wilderness Lodge

This resort had the ‘it’ factor. The tree at Wilderness Lodge looked like something out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. This was by far and away my favorite. Disney absolutely goes all out for Christmas at Fort Wilderness Lodge. This is a can’t miss if you’re a Christmas nut.

In closing, this is a great way to spend a couple hours if you aren’t going to be in the Parks. Walking around the resorts will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. The resorts start decorating for Christmas a couple weeks after Halloween and they stay up till the first week of January. I’ve always enjoyed a well decorated Christmas tree. Let me be clear, the level of decorating is sick. In fact, Walt Disney World is the best place to experience Christmas decorations.
