Hollywood Studios: Stress-Free 1/2 Day Plan

UPDATED 7/2/18: With the addition of Toy Story Land to the park you could stretch this into a full day at Hollywood Studios in its current state, but we can’t wholeheartedly recommend spending that much time here. No worries, Not Club33 has your ass covered because we formulated a half day plan. By following our plan (closely or loosely) it won’t necessarily matter because you’ll have time to do all the shit that IS available. This is a semi-relaxed plan that will help you hit top attractions at Hollywood Studios. (We’ll update this plan again in 2019 when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens).

*Editors Note: If you only have 3-4 days we would consider skipping this park unless you have the Park Hopper. If not, skip this park completely until next year. If you have 5 days or more definitely spend the time and enjoy what’s left of the park.

We’ve decided not to score each attraction until it’s a full day park. Feel free to score them yourself, and be sure to let us know what you think.

You can reserve 3 FastPasses 60 or 30 days in advance of your trip (based on your accommodations). Hollywood Studios has a tiered FastPass system similar to Epcot.

You can choose 1 FastPass from Group A, which include Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania.

You can choose 2 FastPasses from Group B, which includes The Twilight Zone Tower or Terror , and , Muppet*Vision 3D, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Disney Junior- Live on Stage, Star Wars: Launch Bay, Jedi Training: Trails of the Temple, Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster: Starring Aerosmith, and Fantasmic.

Slinky Dog Dash (38in (97cm or taller), The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (40in (102cm) or taller), and Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster (48in (122cm) or taller) are our recommendations for FastPass. For parents with smaller kids, we recommend Toy Story Midway Mania, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, and Muppet*Vision 3D. After using all 3 FastPasses, you will have the capability of reserving a fourth FastPass. Obviously, you can switch it around to fit your needs and likes.*Editor’s Note: People with small children- please check the height restrictions on each attraction.

1.) Get your ass up for the 9:00 AM rope drop at Hollywood Studios because it will allow you to get everything done and you’ll be able to make plans for the rest of the day. *Editor’s Note: You have lots of options after leaving Hollywood Studios after a half day. Disney has two waterparks, you could visit one of the other three theme parks, or relax at the pool at a resort for the rest of the day.

2.) Immediately head to Toy Story Mania, It’s an awesome interactive 4D attraction that everyone will enjoy. If traveling with small children you could do Alien Swirling Saucers here instead sinceyou’ve got a FastPass for Toy Story Mania. Editor’s Note: If you’re not into Toy Story you would be headed to Star Tours right now, you can walk a slow as you’d like to get there as you’ll be the only one in line for it from when the park first opens till about 90 minutes later

3.)Reserve your first FastPass for Slinky Dog Dash at 9am-10am. This is the most popular attraction in the park right now. and it the line here grows rapidly. A Fast Pass here is a necessity. If you have small children this is when you’d use your FastPass for Toy Story Mania

4.) 10am-11am use your Rock N Roller Coaster Fast Pass . If you have small children you’d Be using your Muppet vision FastPass here as that is next door to Toy Story Land.

5.) Possibly Check out a show, Muppet*Vision 3D, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Disney Junior Live on Stage. If shows aren’t your thing ride Star Tours.

6.) Use your third FastPass on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at either 10am -11pm. After, Check for any available Fast Pass’s for the attractions you haven’t done. Those with small children will be using their FastPass for the Frozen sing-a-long here.

7): Lunch at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. This is a fun dining experience for all. After lunch, check for Fastfass’s. You could watch Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage and visit Star Wars: Launch Bay and Jedi Training: Trails of the Temple. If that isn’t your thing, this would be the time to leave the park.*Editor’s Note: You can always come back to the Park later and have dinner or just to watch Fantasmic or Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular nighttime show. Also though we haven’t tried it yet. Woody’s Lunch Box inside Toy Story Land seems like a good option for food if you’re looking for Quick Service (we recommend using mobile ordering here)
