Walt Disney World Unveils Reopening Plan – Starting July 11th

We now have official dates from Jim MacPhee, Senior Vice President of Operations at Walt Disney World on it’s reopening plan. Starting July 11th Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom would open. Epcot and Hollywood Studios would start their reopening process on July 15th.

Earlier today our resident Disney Cynic, Bobby Burchins mused on what the details of the opening may look like, his opining for an optional mask policy didn’t come true as the mask will be a requirement for guest on Disney property but mask can be removed when a guest is eating. Guests and cast members will also have their temperatures checked and guests will need to make a reservation to obtain park entry. Furthermore play areas and character meet-and-greets will be temporarily closed. Disney is also encouraging more contactless and cashless payments, including enhancing the existing Mobile Ordering platform (please allow us to use a gift card on mobile ordering PLEASE!!!). Lastly, in order to avoid large gatherings fireworks and parades will be suspended. Those are the main bullet points from Jim MacPhee’s virtual presentation you can watch the full video here.

It’s worth noting that this is just a proposal from Disney and it would need local and State approval, but who are we kidding this shit is gonna get rubber stamped with a quickness, you can bank on the July 11th date.
