Disney’s Beach Club Resort Review

The Beach Club is themed as a New England beach community. They have studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom rooms available with various different views. It is within walking distance to the International Gateway in Epcot, otherwise known as the backside of the World Showcase. Additionally, it’s a simple boat ride to Hollywood Studios. Beach Club is connected to the Yacht Club, so between the 2 resorts, there are a shit ton of dining options. Moreover, more dining options are available because the Boardwalk and Swan & Dolphin are also within walking distance. It also offers four different pools available to guests at the renowned Stormalong Bay.

What we liked

The proximity to Epcot is amazing. It literally takes about 10-15 damn minutes to get into Epcot. Since the International Gateway’s entrance opens between France and United Kingdom you can watch Illuminations on the bridge and be only minutes from your room. It’s a kickass perk. Additionally, Hollywood Studios is a boat ride away. That means you’re close as hell to Galaxy’s Edge. In addition to the proximity of the two parks it has a badass pool named Stormalong Bay which has multiple beaches and a sandy bottom. How cool is that shit? Hurricane Hanna’s serves as the pool bar. The Category 5 drink will kick your ass. It’s a big son of a bitch. In addition to multiple dining options, mere steps from the pool is Beaches and Cream, arguably one the best experiences on Walt Disney World property.

What we didn’t like

With all the dining options available, the Beach Club lacks a good quick service. Granted, Beaches and Cream is considered a quick service but let’s not kid ourselves – you need a damn reservation to eat there. Plus, they have these marketplaces which aren’t really sufficient for a Deluxe Resort. It sucks that you can’t come back from the parks and grab something quick. Additionally, the main bar inside Martha’s Vineyard sucks ass. It’s old and stuffy. Walk over to Disney’s Boardwalk or order booze to your room if you want to enjoy a drink. Moving on, others say you can walk to HS, but that’s a bunch of bullshit. I mean, its 1.25 miles or about a 20 minute walk. Your whole damn vacation is built around walking. So why the hell would you put your kids or yourself through MORE walking? Quit promoting that ‘short walk to HS’ and tell folks to ride the damn boat instead.

Overall, Disney’s Beach Club is one of the top resorts Walt Disney World has to offer. The theming, while nice, is nothing special. In that aspect it doesn’t even come close to a couple of the other resorts. For example, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, both of which are truly badass. They transport you out of the theme parks. And to a lesser degree, so does Disney’s Polynesian. Nevertheless, the Beach Club is a Titan in its own right, especially for folks who love Epcot and kickass pools; and pretty soon people that want to be close to Galaxy’s Edge. The addition of the Disney Skyliner will undoubtedly add more value to this resort since you’ll have easy access to even more Disney properties. With all that said, I highly recommend staying at the Beach Club.
